The integrated Touch User Interface has matured brilliantly since release back in 2016 (making its first appearance on the MPC Touch), and Akai frequently updates the firmware each year introducing new features, and always for free. If you desire to get away from your computer and not be tethered, then the MPC Live 2 or One is a great option. ![]() ![]() Literally the *ONLY* reason to go with one of the current gen MPC's is for true standalone functionality, IMHO - as the MPC Software that runs on your computer is really just a utility app not conducive to inspirational creation. FYI I will be getting a Maschine MK3 Basically looking at it for Boom Bap stuff and drums. On a Maschine Mikro and really interested in the AKAI MPC stuff.
